1963 Volkswagen Swivel Seat Type 2 Panel Bus
Available now is this beautiful classic type 2 VW Panel van. Our Bus underwent a refurbishment which included a body off all new OEM floor pan install, new railings and new doglegs. This refurbishment was done in Colorado by robotics as you would see on the Volkswagen assembly line. The color of the van is and was kept patina looking which gives it a very cool retro rat style body. A new rear bumper was installed as well as new headlights and tail lights. All the ice pick handles are brand new OEM. The wheels are like new 17 inch speedwell wheels with like new tires on all 4 corners. Our VW has a roof rack installed which can be used for a variety of different items. All the windows are manually operated including the front split windows, door windows and rear window. The gas tank and engine compartment are opened with a special “church” key which is mounted on the driver side lower A pillar.
Interior has been completely gone through. Front seats are all newly upholstered and in excellent condition. Gas gauge and speedometer gauges are brand new. A new fuel sender was installed to display accurate fuel levels. In addition, A new steering gear box was installed. The bus front seats are both swivel and turn completely. The walkthrough has been all paneled from the walls, the doors, floors and roof under panel. The rear hatch has a trunk style storage behind the rear bench seat. Under the factory dash is a autometer RPM gauge with shift light.
The motor is a freshly built flat 4 1.6L motor (1641CC) is paired to a freeway flyer transmission. Motor was fitted with 34 EMPI dual carburetors and fitted with a custom vintage speed exhaust. The freeway flyer transmission allows you to get up to modern day highway speeds without running your motor at the very top of the RPM band. This makes our particular VW bus one that can be used for almost any driving occasion. In addition to upgrading the driveline the suspension and brakes also were upgraded. The front suspension all brand new was fitted with 4 inch narrow beam drop links. The front brakes were upgraded to Porsche 911 cross drilled rotors and fitted with Willwood calipers. Handling and stopping power provided by these upgrades were significantly enhanced and bring our classic VW bus up to more modern day standards.
