1984 (DR30) Nissan Skyline RS-X Turbo

Now available for purchase is this time capsule of proper old school Japanese tuning. The DR30 Skyline RS-X Turbo came about in the time of the turbo craze that seemed to have washed over every manufacturer around the world. From factory the RS-X came fitted with the turbo 4 cylinder FJ20ET, however in the case of this DR30 it has been swapped out for a well tuned L28 straight 6. 

The majority of DR30 skylines that have been imported to the states are going to be a base model with not much to offer as far as a driving experience goes. The L-series that’s been swapped in makes for an eventful experience with the engine screaming through the long tube headers as it breathes through the triple OER racing carburetors. The car is in generally good condition both physically and mechanically, however does have some items that could be addressed for optimal performance. These items would include going through the fuel system, fluids, and a set of tires, but as the car sits it does perform and drive well.

The Exterior is finished in classic black and red 2-tone the DR30 RS-X Turbo is known for along with the proper stickers. Fitted to the car are a set of SSR Formula Mesh wheels with a double stagger of 17/16 and are in great condition. The paint is in good condition with minimal imperfections, one being a chip in the paint of the front valance, aside from that the paint is generally good.

Moving to the interior of the car you’ll find the original red seats in place, along with the majority of the front interior, in the rear the seats have been removed along with the rear rear deck in order to fit the Cusco rear strut bar as well as the roll bar. The interior is in decent condition but does leave room for improvement. A few very period correct parts adorn the interior, a set of 3 old logo Nismo gauges to monitor oil temp, oil pressure, and water temp. A few Kameari parts can be seen inside as well, a fuel gauge and a 10k rpm tach with shift light.

Overall this DR30 is an awesome time capsule of old school tuning that delivers an experience when driving.
