RMC Miami presents a well balanced and well sorted 1993 Nissan Skyline GTR R32
Through the years we’ve learned there’s a lot of options when it comes to setting up a 32R. Whether it’s big power for drag racing or a crazy widebody for elite shows, there’s really nothing you “can’t” do to a 32R, or any Nissan matter of fact. But there’s something special about a setup that screams balance and control. A balanced weapon brings key setup features which provide pleasant visuals on their own – and this example chassis 301317 is a perfect example.
Visually, a standard KH2 car obviously isn’t much of a head turner but something about this machine sets it apart from everything else on the road: the stance. Barely-swallowed underneath rust-free 32R fenders is a set of 18×11 inch squared ice white TE37SLs that scream 90’s motorsport. The simple stock body paired with the massive steamroller stance gives this car the timeless Calsonic R32 JGTC spirit. The chassis is in great condition with little to no blemishes and the interior alike. With cold AC, smooth idle, a quiet startup and idle and paired with a well sorted setup, this 32R is ready for the street and the track.
This 32R has well thought out and balanced powertrain work. To start, a plethora of HKS goodies can be found under the hood starting with the highlight of the system: HKS VCAM. The VCAM setup allows for increased power and torque response throughout the powerband giving this 32R a modern feel. Engine management is controlled by an HKS FCON-V Pro ECU making tuning adjustments easy. Other HKS parts include upgraded charge piping, an upgraded fuel rail, and a “Super Turbo” exhaust which when paired with the MINE’S equal length front pipe, gives an unmatched tone. This 32R also has all of the complimenting cooling upgrades to make a reliable weekend track machine.
To start and further elaborate on the obvious, the lack of aerodynamic grip from a vintage weapon like this is quickly accommodated by massive 295 squared Yokohama Advan Neova tires. Upgraded adjustable suspension arms in the front and rear ensure consistency and adjustability while upgraded subframe bushing inserts provide necessary driving feel and predictability. This 32R features an extremely rare set of HKS Hypermax GT 5 adjustable coilovers which complete the “drives on rails” aspect of this car. On the front end, behind the ice white TE37SLs are a set of massive six piston, original Alcon brake calipers that provide tons of consistent stopping power.
A pleasant interior compliments the visual and mechanical aspects of this 32R. A Bride Low Max drivers seat paired with Willans harnesses gives the driver a secure road feel and responsiveness. The dash shows no bubbling and the rest of the factory interior is in great condition. There are a few NISMO parts that compliment the interior including an old logo gauge cluster, old logo triple gauge set and a NISMO 350mm steering wheel.
As mentioned, the car is on rails. The wheel/tire/suspension setup on this car provides a whole new feel and paired with the responsive powertrain, it’s a blast to drive. Cornering is done with confidence thanks to the tight seating and suspension setup and the car pulls extremely strong.
