This incredible 500E has been modified by the highly regarded tuning shop Azzure Motoring in Japan. The car has been refinished in a stunning deep blue metallic, stripped down to bare metal, and resprayed to OEM standards. The paint quality is exceptional, as shown in the pictures below and in the gallery. The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory-rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheels via a smooth four-speed 722 automatic transmission. The engine pulls strongly, and the transmission shifts effortlessly. Both the engine and transmission have reportedly been rebuilt, along with the engine harness. The car has been tuned and feels incredibly fast with precise, quick shifts.Suspension recieved a rare set of SACHS Super Touring shocks and HYPERICO lowering springs, which complement the close-ratio steering rack perfectly. This shocks add a nice firmness to the ride without sacrificing comfort. As you can imagine, the driving experience of the E500 is second to none. With a plush, comfortable ride thanks to one of Mercedes’ best suspension setups, you get confidence-inspiring steering and handling, thanks to the folks at Porsche.
A strut bar on top enhances rigidity and handling, while the cat-back exhaust upgrade provides an awesome sound. The factory cats are still present in the mid-pipe, as seen in the undercarriage photos.Exhaust tone is pretty quiet and tasty. The underside is rust-free and shows no signs of corrosion, with nice floors and intact jack points.
The body is in phenomenal condition, with straight lines and no waviness in the doors. The factory widebody design gives the car an impressive street presence. It has been lowered with a custom adjustable setup, and the rare, stunning 19-inch “Carlsson” model 1/16 wheels in gloss black perfectly complement the exterior,wrapped in 235/35 in the front and 275/30 in the rear. The factory brakes have been replaced and upgraded to Porsche Brembo big brakes with stainless steel braided lines, providing tremendous stopping power and a fantastic look. This is a factory slick top (no sunroof), which is quite rare among 500Es. The Mercedes emblem has been shaved off the hood for a clean look, and the trunk lock button has also been removed, with a trunk release relocated to the gas tank. The taillights have been upgraded to LEDs for a more modern appearance, and the headlights and fog lights have been upgraded to HIDs.
The interior is largely customized and an awesome place to be. Upon opening the driver’s door, you’re greeted by Louis Vuitton suede door panels and seat bolsters. Original high-quality Japanese car floor mats add a sporty vibe to the whole interior.All four door sills feature a stainless steel AMG display. The entire headliner is now suede, including the sun visors. The trim has been upgraded to a glossy marble finish, looking fresh and presentable—unlike the usual cracked ones. The center wood cabinet works perfectly, which is a common issue in these cars. The steering wheel has been replaced with a Raid Porsche steering wheel, valued at around $1,000. The radio has been upgraded to a pop-up double DIN Eclipse screen with DVD compatibility. If purchased in the USA, it’s recommended and possible to change the radio to tune into American frequencies. The sound system includes a kicker subwoofer and amp neatly mounted in the rear deck shelf. All power functions work as they should, including windows, ice-cold A/C, functional heat, and all seat adjustments.
The car comes with almost a full, notable documented service history from Japan, where it was bought from MB Official Dealer in Osaka, and it looks and feels like it just arrived in our inventory straight from that 1992r.
The purchaser will receive service records, three keys, books, manuals, and a clean Florida title.
