The Toyota Aristo is an elegant grand tourer, yet this example by Infini features a formidable performance package. Beneath the exterior of this 1990s sedan lies a highly specialized configuration. This JZS161 has been built to a very high level of sporty daily driver with the best parts available. Huge power was not the focus, just nice fun daily driver that rides like modern sport sedan.
The Aristo served as the performance-oriented counterpart to the Lexus GS400 in the North American market. Rather than utilizing the robust 4.0-liter 1UZ-FE V8, it was equipped from the factory with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 2JZ-GTE engine. Paired with a heavy-duty variant of the Aisin A340E four-speed automatic transmission, the drivetrain remains exceptionally capable of delivering power.
But being built by Technical Shop Infini in Japan, it needed to be better.
This Aristo received extra components to deliver nearly 400 horsepower to the wheels, including a single GReddy turbo, an MK4 Supra intake manifold, and a Fujitsubo exhaust system.
Inside, modest upgrades focus on engine monitoring: Defi gauges track boost pressure, water temperature, oil pressure, and oil temperature, alongside an AEM Air/Fuel Ratio gauge, TopGear Digital Fuel Multimeter, and a GReddy ProFec boost controller.
The cabin also features black and red Recaro Sportster seats, a Momo Competition steering wheel, a Pioneer Carrozzeria Navi system, and aluminum pedals.
The Diamond White Pearl exterior remains in excellent condition with several tuner upgrades. The front end features a raw fiberglass hood, a Kazama Auto Luxor bumper, HID headlamps with LED fog lights, and Vertex sideskirts. At the rear, a Rando Sports Lux trunk spoiler sits above LED taillights and a rear diffuser. Currently, the car rests on Mag Blue finished Volk Racing F-Zero Challenge wheels.
This will serve as an excellent daily for any enthusiast looking for comfortable and stylish daily that delivers the feels and looks. Accompanied with service records and fresh service she is ready to be enjoyed.
