1971 Nissan Hakosuka Skyline 2000 GT-X GT-R Tribute
Available now is this beautiful fully restored Hakosuka Skyline. Restoration was carried out in Japan at “Classic House Vintage” (http://www.japan-vintage.com/). Finished in metallic silver the paint is in fantastic condition. Paint was recently paint corrected and is nearly flawless with no major dents dings or scratches. The car has been upgraded tp GT-R styling with fender flares, front and rear spoilers, and RS Watanabe alloy wheels wrapped in Falken ziex tires. From the iconic fender mirrors to the pillarless windows there isn’t a bad angle on the car. All the chrome on the car shows nicely with no pitting or rust. Rocker panels and bottom of the doors are clean as well.
The interior of this car looks like new. The vintage bucket seats are in perfect condition. The headliner is mint, there is no sagging no stains and the OEM dome light works. The dash is straight and free of cracks, instruments work, as well as the four power windows. The wood console is shows nicely with all appropriate original knobs and functions working. The original radio is present but does not work. Previous owner added a aftermarket radio but did not wire it up. Door cards look like new, same as the seats they are not torn or damaged and maintain the original Japanese patches. The steering wheel has been changed to a IMOLA Italvolanti unit. A sport competition voltage gauge has been added for a more accurate voltage reading.
It is easy to understand why this car is so iconic, and how the Skyline legend was born. Driving experience is really phenomenal. The engine delivers a great powerband and sound, the perfectly paired 5-speed transmission feels always like it’s a step ahead while propelling the car forward in a very immersive driving experience. It all works together very well. Its 2.8 liter L28 inline-six has been upgraded with triple Solex side draft carburetors. A beautiful stainless steel exhaust was added and provided an intoxicating noise to pair with the induction sound of the Carburetors. Additionally, the Coilovers along with 15″ RS Watanabe wheels, and the strut brace, deliver a nimble behavior with incredible ability for cornering and precise handling. The car has upgraded disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear.
It is becoming more and more rare to find these cars in this kind of complete package. Most of these are not even for sale as Nissan enthusiasts and car collectors worldwide lust for an elusive Hakosuka in this kind of condition.
