This three owner California car spent 24 years in the same Bay Area ownership and then 10 years in collector storage with the second owner.
The car’s paint meters very well all around and shows very nicely for a car this age and with this mileage. Lines of this iconic pillarless body are straight all around, and the gaps look factory and even in all panes, showing evidence that it has not been in any accidents. AMG body work retains all the original stamps proving legitimacy. All windows and sunroof operate as intended.
Genuine AMG Penta wheels look amazing all around and are wrapped on must-have period NEW correct Pirelli Cinturatos. Car rides on impossible to find, very rare AMG springs in white, that provide a lower stance, more precise steering and second to none flagship ride quality.
The interior is also superb. The wood has some minor cracking The AMG Recaro seats are spectacular and are un fully functioning condition and are mechanically freshly serviced. Headliner is amazing and most importantly the dash looks brand new, and it is free of any warping or cracks, typical to the aged 126 chassis Benzes.
During the first half of this year, we performed an open wallet mechanical service that includes:
-Brake system with new calipers, flush and ABS pump service -Fuel system overhaul including injectors, fuel distributor and flush -Tune up -Long headers covered in heat wrap to protect engine bay components from the heat. -Steering and alignment -Recaro seats mechanism service -New Pirelli Cinturato tires

Sent almost immediately to a local AMG authorized shop, the car then received its bodykit, lowering springs, wheels, Recaros and other touches as noted further below and in the ad. Records date back to 1991, and the seller notes a recent $1,800 refreshing that included fitment of new shifter bushings, cam cover gaskets and more. A/C has recently been serviced as well, and still runs original spec R12 refrigerant. Condition looks and sounds to be very good throughout, and be sure not to miss the shot of the car parked next to a red Testarossa further below. The monochromatic white treatment is about as Miami Vice as it gets, but the car looks very well kept with excellent sheet metal, trim, and paint finish. Penta wheels fill the arches perfectly, and fortunately the no one’s fitted clear taillights as was common for these all white cars. The seller notes a few minor blemishes, but none are obvious and it’s clear that the car has been well looked after. Inside, Orion Gray trimmings give a subtle contrast to the exterior, and most surfaces appear to be in very good shape save for some cracking veneers. Door panel wood is said to be perfect however, and the period Recaros with switches on inner bolsters, AMG wheel, and Becker radio with a reportedly rare SK sound system are all very cool in a period correct way. The seller believes that the M117 liter V8 remains all stock, but these Euro range topping 5.0 liter versions were generally more powerful than the flagship 5.6 version sold in the US thanks to less conservative tuning. At the time of purchase, the car had been resting inop for nearly a decade, but the car has since been largely sorted. Full details of work performed this year are available in the ad, but the responsible shop claims that the automatic transmission and ball joints will still need work. Though the Benz isn’t a supercar in the traditional sense, it’s still a very special machine, and this shot is just pure eighties–all it needs is some faded Kodachrome |
