1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo Look Rare M491 Widebody 1 of 180 / 5 Speed G50 / Top End Rebuild / Documented History

Available now is this excellent example of a 87′ Porsche 911. Our Porsche is finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior and is one of approximately 180 cabriolets produced with the US-spec M491 Turbo Look. The car was sold new at Porsche of Springfield, Missouri. Paint is in excellent condition, there is no major dents dings or large scratches. Body lines are very straight and the car is rust free and has never been in any accident. The M491 package added Turbo-style fender flares, a lower front spoiler, and a rear deck lid spoiler. There are some rock chips on the front of the car and side mirrors, along with paint flaking on the mesh of the rear spoiler. The included Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage. Modifications consist of European-spec H4 headlights, a K&N air filter, an aftermarket exhaust, and an Alpine stereo system.

The original black soft top shown above features a new rear plastic window, both top motors were replaced in 2017. Factory 16″ Fuchs wheels wear 205/55 front and 245/50 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires. The widebody M491 cars feature Turbo suspension and brakes, and a “Carrera” badge has been added to the rear decklid.

Interior is black leather with matching carpets and plastics. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows and seats, central locking, cruise control, and an Alpine stereo system with upgraded speakers and amplifier. A subwoofer is behind the passenger seat and is removable. AC blows cool but could use a charge. Factory instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline, and a six-digit mechanical odometer showing just over 76,200 miles. In the frunk area the original paint code sticker is present a aftermarket strut bar has been added and the original option code sticker is there.

Power comes from the original air-cooled 3.2L flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Car had a top end engine out rebuild in 2008 at 66k miles by Eisenbuds in Denver, Currently the car mechanically is in excellent shape. Driving is a great experience. The car turns on without smoke or any weird sounds. Engine idles smoothly, clutch engagement is soft and the car revs to all the way to redline smoothly and without hesitation. Suspension is factory and the driving feel is tight and gives you confidence to drive it spiritedly.
