In a time long before air-cooled widebody Porsches were all the hype, there was a man was perfecting his craft in the mountain city of Gifu, Japan.
Takeru Inui is the mastermind behind Sunburst, a predecessor to the RWB cars we’ve become familiar with which even worked together in the early stages of RWB. Sunburst is a traditional Japanese tuning workshop, which built their first widebody Porsches in the early ‘90s.
Mr. Inui has quietly been making custom masterpieces long before the hype, with only a limited amount kits making their way stateside over the years.
The GT2 Over-fender kit is crafted with precision, providing a familiar look to the 911 yet is still very unique considering the rarity of these Sunburst kits.
Ikeda Engineering used this Sunburst kitted 964 as their muse and they left their mark on the build to say the least.
Show and Go is a motto RMC has always stood behind and this 964 is no exception.
The Ikeda Engineering build is rated around 300hp, a healthy number for an N/A 911.
These cars are not famous for their power figures, but more-so the overall driving experience.
The J-Wolf equal length headers acted to their custom exhaust provide the soundtrack.
Suspension was tuned by the masters at Ikeda Engineering and has this car on rails. The car sits on Ikeda Engineering coilovers with swift springs.
The front end is braced with a RUF strut bar.
A set of Work Meisters wrapped in Yokohama rubber grace the 4 corners. Turn in is immediate and response time is near instant.
