Considered to be one of the best supercars of the 1990’s, the Ferrari F355 chassis is a vintage engineering marvel with motorsport roots; the Ferrari usual. Unveiled to the public in 1994, the 355 was the successor to the similar-bodied 348 but according to Ferrari themselves, the 355 took a more traditional design approach, lead by Pininfarina, inheriting twin tail lights and large vents in front of the rear wheels that transition from the doors. “F1-inspired” was Ferrari’s engineering model and the leading component for that model in the F355 is the F129: a 90 degree, flat plane crank V8 revving to 8250 rpm and producing 380hp mounted low in the chassis. Combined with double wishbone suspension and an optional F1-style automated manual transmission, the F355. This example comes with a gated six speed manual transmission and is finished in 1250 Nero with a beige interior in amazing condition.
A retro Ferrari with modern styling. Owned by the founder of Rotiform, this F355, a Rotiform demo car was fitted with 19” TUF-R alloy wheels. Originally brushed silver, the set was refinished in a bold gloss black giving the Berlinetta a stealth, composed look. The gloss black finish acts like a spotlight for stopping power- on this machine pointing out the bright yellow six-piston Brembo GT calipers and drilled two-piece rotors that give you a sense of motorsport security in a refined show car. However, the jewel of this F355 is the adjustable ride height provided by an Airlift-managed Prazis air suspension system giving the Berlinetta the ability to lay frame while retaining reasonably tight and consistent handling capabilities due to quality components. Wiring for the system is hidden with care and the silver air tank & compressor can be found in the frunk. Functionality of the trunk cover is retained and overall, the ride is comfortable and tight with no squeaking or rattling from the suspension. A custom exhaust gives the 355 a deep decibel low RPM tone while letting the F129 sing at high RPM with no drone, rasp or excessive noise.
The interior of the F355 is elegant and refined. Almost every inch is lined with beautiful beige leather . The dash shows no cracks, there are no tears in the seats, and the headliner is in excellent condition to match the excellent exterior condition. From a driving perspective, the car is comfortable but crisp because of the low center of gravity and high quality Prazis damper. The car feels like it’s still on a traditional damper/coil setup but gains aesthetics and functionality of an air-ride system.
This example has extensive service and ownership history with service receipts included. Engine seals, timing belt, cats, assorted trim pieces, ignition, fuel and suspension components have been replaced and documented. In 2017 a full engine-out overhaul service was completed to the Berlinetta. Documentation available upon request.
