HISTORY
The W140 generation of the S-Class, which debuted in 1991, was a groundbreaking model, featuring Mercedes-Benz’s first production V12 engine—the 6.0L powerplant, under the S 600 badge. This engine was paired with cutting-edge features like four-valve technology, a variable intake camshaft, and cylinder-selective anti-knock control, setting a new benchmark for both power and refinement in luxury sedans that still holds true today. The S 600 AMG Roots
In 1993, Mercedes-Benz began offering AMG enhancements for the S-Class, and by 1995, the S 600 AMG was born. With the added AMG performance modifications, including AMG custom-tuned ECUs and AMG camshafts, this S 600 recieved power up around 420 horsepower, and elevated the W140 to a new level of model enjoyment, became a true desirable sleeper, among those seeking a balance of luxury and refined performance – just “in one package”
But not only perfomance side was touched by AMG – it`s that might pleasyre the eye – two-piece 18-inch AMG “Aero II” wheels, floor mats and a OG AMG 300 kph speedometer, adding a further touch of exclusivity and make this S600 so special.
OWNERSHIP AND MAINTENANCE
This example was ordered new in Germany in December 1994. The original owner opted for several rare features, including a power rear window shade, rear air conditioning controls, and the exclusive four-place multi-contour seating package. Two-piece 18-inch AMG “Aero II” wheels were also added, enhancing the car’s commanding presence.After its time in Germany, the car was imported to Japan, where it was further upgraded with a Brabus exhaust system. In 2022 purchased by the current owner and imported to the United States.Upon arrival, the car received a thorough inspection and service, including replacing the engine wiring harness, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, and comfort module, and rebuilding the Pneumatic System Equipment (PSE) pump and lower engine harness. Additionally, both throttle bodies were overhauled, and it was noted that both mass air flow wiring harnesses had been previously replaced. The service total exceeded $10,000 at specialist shops in the New York City area, ensuring the vehicle remains in exceptional operational condition.
CONDITION AND ACCESSORIES
This 1995 Mercedes-Benz S 600 AMG is in remarkable condition, both cosmetically and mechanically. The “Smoke Silver Metallic (702)” exterior shows very little wear, with the paint retaining its luster. The “Mushroom leather (565)” interior is in good shape for it`s age, with non serious signs of wear or aging. All of the car’s original features function as intended, including Soft close doors/ trunk lid system, the rear seat amenities, power rear window shade, air conditioning system, rear wood folding tables, extended wood trims,etc. The vehicle is accompanied by a complete set of service records, and its maintenance history underscores the meticulous care it has received throughout its life.
