Now available is an excellent example of a 575M Maranello, a 2005 final-year production model fished in the traditional and vibrant Rosso Corse with a unique assortment of modifications that enhance drivability and performance while maintaining comfort.
Debuted in 2002, the 575M continued the traditional front-engine rear wheel drive V12 configuration. Based on the same chassis and suspension setup as the 550, the 575 offered anti roll bars as well as an EDC system and a slightly wider track width. The tipo F133 65 degree V12 was increased about 0.2L from its predecessor by extending bore and stroke. Additionally, compression was increased from 10.8:1 to 11.0:1.
This 575M has a very notable change: it’s no longer an F1-style gearbox. Converted by the previous owner and EAG USA based out of Austin, TX, this example now features a gated six speed manual gearbox. The conversion kit came with all necessary components to convert the 575M into a true manual, including a classic Ferrari-style gated shifter featuring push-down reverse. The manual swap allows for full vehicle control and no worries about the reliability of the F1 system.
This 575M sits on a custom fit set of WORK Meister S1 3-piece wheels; 8.5” in the front, 10.5” in the rear on Michelin summer tires. Polished lips and brushed bright silver faces stand out against the bright Rosso Corse paint. In sunlight the color combination is so vibrant that the old school 575M body still turns every head. The body retains elegance while featuring one of the most iconic wheels out of Japan, making for an interesting combination. The factory adjustable suspension was adjusted to complement the wheel fitment, making for a tight but functional look and feel.
Behind the bright silver wheel faces is a set of massive six piston calipers in the front and 4 pistons in the rear paired with cross drilled floating rotors. The setup, which mimics that of a 458/488 is supplied by Formula Dynamics and provides improved braking force, feel and heat management compared to the smaller factory brake system.
The interior greets you a refined sporty look that highlights 2000’s function and design. As mentioned, there’s now a gated manual shifter in place of the F1-style gear connector and three pedals instead of two of course. Aluminum pedals provide an OEM sporty look and the shifter also resembles OEM design. There are no tears in the Cuoio leather seats and no bubbling in the dash. The headliner is also in great condition. AC and controls are fully functional and so is the Kenwood head unit. Inside the rear boot you’ll find an unused spare tire and the original tool case stored away below.
This 575M still retains its factory comfort but obviously the gated manual conversion makes it much more spirited than stock. Although the car is quite large, it still keeps Ferrari spirit meaning it’s very tight and responsive. You’d have no issue cruising around town in it nor would you have an issue carving mountain roads. The interior is quiet and open but you still feel secure in your seat. The 5.7L V12 is extremely responsive even on low end and the shifter moves from gate to gate smoothly. The massive Ferrari Brembo brakes now accommodate the mass of the car making it feel like you’re in a tiny F430, not a 575M. Overall, it’s an excellent cruiser while retaining everything that makes a Ferrari a Ferrari.
