Now available is a 2008 Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG that received the T65S tuning package from Brabus. Already at the forefront of large coupes, the C216 CL elaborates on big, beefy manufacturing and styling regardless of the trim. Add an AMG-built & Brabus-tuned twin turbo V12, a Brabus bodykit and polished 9-spoke Brabus wheels, and it becomes a timeless performance coupe. On busy Miami streets this 2008 Mercdes still turns many heads because of how bold the body styling is. Jet black exterior finish combined with a black leather & designo suede interior provide a true VIP look while the original body lines have that smooth 2000’s look that you no longer see today.
On the interior, it doesn’t feel like a tight coupe, because it’s not… it’s massive. The interior design resembles true high-end Mercedes aesthetic: luxurious but subtle. Anything you touch whether it’s the steering wheel, compartments, the infotainment dial door handles, even the hood latch has that heavy feel. This example was optioned with exclusive leather trim as well as the Designo alcantara headliner. Diamond stitching can be found on the ventilated rear seats and door cards and the headliner presents a gorgeous black alcantara finish.
On the exterior, in addition to the above mentioned you will find multiple Brabus logos on the front (illuminated), side and rear of the car. Behind the Brabus 9-spoke wheels you’ll find the traditional AMG dual-brake calipers in the front needed to stop about 5000 lbs.
The Brabus T65S performance modifications from Brabus include upgraded turbochargers with modified turbocharger manifolds & turbines, upgraded intercoolers, upgraded engine mount brackets to accommodate the turbo manifolds, modified engine electronics and high flow catalytic converters. Upon startup, the V12 sings, but quietly. It has the smooth cranking sound that everyone loves combined with a exotic subtle 12-cylinder symphony.
Driving is extremely smooth with no misifiring or hard shifts from the reinforced 5-speed transmission. Low end torque is most notable – applying just a bit of throttle allows you to zip through traffic with ease. Suspension feels tight and comfortable for how heavy the car is. AMG tuning allows it to ride smooth without feeling overly floaty.
This CL65 has received notable maintenance over the years with a major service having been completed at just over 40,000 miles in 2018. Below are notable services performed, all at Mercedes Benz of Chicago:
