the 500 E is easily distinguished from its lesser brethren. Because of its look, limited numbers, hand-built construction, and unique pedigree
it is already considered a “modern classic”, even within Mercedes-Benz. With a body so wide it did not fit the Mercedes
assembly line they called on Porsche to hand build these cars making them even more special.
Factory 16” alloys wear Michelin Premier A/S tires that show 2015 date codes. In July 2019, the rear self-leveling hydraulic shocks,
accumulators, bushings, and hardware were replaced along with the rear sway bar stabilizer links.
Modifications include a facelift front fascia, and services have included an oil change and replacement of the self-leveling shocks,
accumulators, and bushings, the rear sway bar stabilizer links, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, transmission cooler lines, and more.
The cabin is trimmed in grey leather with wood trim on the door panels, dashboard, and center console.
Factory equipment includes heated and powered front seats with memory as well as a leather-covered steering wheel and shift knob,
an electric rear window roller blind, and factory Becker audio system.
VDO instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a six-digit odometer that shows just under 69k miles,
The 5.0L M119 V8 was rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque when new. Shifting is through a four-speed automatic transmission.
Engine and transmission run flawlessly and the pulls through the gears nicely showing impressive power for its age.
Maintenance in July 2019 included an oil change, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, transmission cooler lines, and a transmission service.
The upper engine wiring harness was replaced under previous ownership.
