Available now is this beautiful icon out of the 90s. Sold new in Oklahoma in 1991 this is one of 2,191 sold in the US market. Owned by the same family since new the car is in excellent condition and well preserved as it was garage kept its whole life. Finished in OEM BMW Shwarz paint with tan interior the car has a lovely color combination. Paint has been paint metered and verified all original with paint meter readings 4-6mm throughout on all panels. Front bumper has some rock chips as it has never been painted and the car has been driven 60k miles. There is no major dents or scratches on the exterior with very straight bodylines and deep wet looking shine. The original 16 inch BMW Wheels are super clean and include the full size 5th wheel spare in the trunk. Wheels are all wrapped in newer continental tires on all 4 corners. The pop up headlights function as they should and go up and down evenly with the console control. Exterior as the interior is 100% factory stock, not modified.
Interior is just as nice as the exterior. Tan seats are free of any cuts or rips and is still factory fresh and soft. Door cards look like new with elegant leather and buttons which are not faded or discolored evident of the low mileage. The iconic pillarless windows all function as they should and give it a gorgeous look. The original radio still works as it should. On board computer does have the common pixilation which these cars are notorious for. The 180mph instrument cluster shows just over 60k actual miles. There is no warning signs or warning bulbs on while idling or driving. The original BMW phone in the center console still actually powers on. Inside the dual glovebox is the original BMW handbook. Headliner is perfect with no sagging or stains, evident of a non smoker vehicle. These old BMWs have the classic “crayon” smell which smells factory fresh. In the rear deck the original medical kit is still in the medical kit cubby which is really rare. Open the trunk and the tool kit is almost complete and even has the BMW original rag still in the plastic. Under the trunk mat is a full size spare wheel which matches the 4 BMW wheels on the car.
Pop the hood and the fantastic 5.0L M70 V12 demands immediate attention. The M70’s design is similar to that of two 2.5 L M20 straight-six engines joined at a 60 degree angle,[2] due to the following features: single overhead camshaft valvetrain, bore spacing of 91 mm (3.6 in), bore of 84 mm (3.31 in), stroke of 75 mm (2.95 in), and a compression ratio of 8.8:1.[3] The engine runs flawlessly, turn one of the 2 keys that come with the car in the ignition and you hear the symphony that is the BMW V12. There is no modifications to the engine or transmission. The 4 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and revs to the rev band without hesitation. A full $7,000 service was just performed which included new fuel pumps, clean bench flow and rebuilt injectors, new intake manifold gaskets, full coolant system service and flush, and brake flush. The car at the moment needs nothing but a new enthusiast owner.
