The final naturally aspirated M5 from BMW, a model that changed the state of the super saloon. The first sedan with a gasoline V10 engine debuted in 2004 at the Paris International Motorshow and simply took the world by storm. In BMW M’s eyes, the proper way to take a step into the future was to first stepback into the past.
A time capsule, indeed.
This E60 M5 is in phenomnal condition thanks to attentive upkeep over the years. At 75k miles on the clock, the car was approximately driven 4,600 miles per year and was still serviced as if it was used daily. The ‘comfort’ seats are in new condition and are climatized for heating & cooling. All windows, sunroof, door locks + function, radio and drive modes are in perfect working order. The Servotronic steering & SMG functions from modes 1-6 literally feel new, as boasted about by our in-house E60 M5 expert & fanatic! All body panels & paint (metered) are original with bi-annual details for the last several years. Carpetting within the cabin & trunk has no tears, rips, or fading. Alacantara headliner is in grade-A condition as well.
The only reigning issue is the “off” button for the climate control which may require more than one tap to engage. The button & display however are in perfect aesthetic condition.

The E60 M5 characteristically was a different animal than any of it’s predecessors along with its successors, in kind. The S85B50 V10 powerplant was derived from Formula 1 ideology and the presentation of this tribute comes in spades. Gear shifts are the same as when the car touched U.S. soil in late 2006. Crisp, clean, great power through the entire powerband, but particularly at the higher end. Amazingly smooth delivery without any differential movement, highlighting upkeep of the rubber fittings and bushings along the chassis. All driving modes are up to spec from SMG shift setting to the M-Drive modes. The vehicle is set to P500 Sport, and it operates to full tilt. Brakes, suspension & general footwork supply are all in perfect working order. The S85 powerplant behaves as it should, with the jarring acceleration the E60 M5 is known for. A smooth idle, and easy in-town useability are an added bonus. It is very tough to find an E60 M5 in this condition, with documented upkeep over the years, let alone a dealership maintained unit! The V10 M5/M6 market is on it’s way up, making this car a textbook opportunity to join the club!
The vehicle was purchased new at Peabody BMW in Massachusetts. The original owner serviced the car at Peabody for 15+ years, and had a service as recent as 6,000 miles ago.
